Summary Volume containing three documents, 1746-1751, produced during the administration of Gov. George Clinton in New York, regarding relations with the Six Nations and the war effort . Included are: speeches by Clinton to the Council and General Assembly, and responses and resolutions of the Assembly, all concerning a proposed expedition against Canada, June 6-July 11, 1746 (11 p.); "Minutes of Council commencing the 26th November 1750 and ending the 19th June 1751," mainly involving Six Nations Indian affairs (proposed 1751 Albany conference, land petitions) (38 p.); proceedings of a conference between Gov. Clinton and the Six Nations Indians held at Albany, July 1-10, 1751, which contain speeches by Clinton, Six Nations chiefs, and South Carolina congressman Bull regarding peace between Indian Nations (including the Six Nations and the Catawbas), and the renewal of the Covenant Chain (28 p.). The last document also contains a copy of a May 21, 1751, letter from South Carolina governor James Glen to the Six Nations.
