Descriptive letterpress by Lino Moroni on leaf facing each plate, printed within decorative border.
Plates engraved by Raffaello Schiaminossi and Domenico Falcini after drawings by Jacopo Ligozzi; the dedication mentions 25 plates, but only 23 were published; some plates have moveable flaps mounted as part of the design.
