Biographical/Historical Note Patricia Barretto was born in Mumbai, India; she spent the majority of her adult life in North America. A career arts administrator, she enjoyed tenures with Toronto Symphony Orchestra, The Royal Conservatory, and Opera Atelier, before coming to the Harris Theater for Music and Dance as its Vice President of Marketing and Communications in 2015. She became Harris Theater's President and CEO in 2017 and facilitated the Chicago premieres of international dance companies such as English National Ballet, Bangarra Dance Theatre, and Tanztheater Wuppertal/Pina Bausch. Barretto died in 2020 following a 4-year battle with breast cancer. (2024)
