Description
This item was donated via a crowdsourcing opportunity with WBEZ in 2021.
Location: Glenview, IL
Note from donor: "This is the covenant to the house my parents bought in 1967. Not only does it limit residency to Caucasians (servants excepted!), but it limits it to Gentiles as well. "Rolling Country Estates" in Cook County doesn't exist any more, as far as my research has taken me, but the house was on Rolling Pass in Glenview. I'd love to know more about Rolling County Estates if you find out anything about it!"
Biographical/Historical Note
This material was crowd sourced as part of a collaboration with Natalie Moore at WBEZ. They may contain language and imagery that are offensive, and we ask that all researchers proceed with this in mind. The Newberry's Statement on Potentially Offensive Materials and Descriptions can be found here.
