Summary Autograph letter, dated Feb. 22, 1559, Florentine style, from Francesco Maria di Medici in Ferrara, to his mother, Eleonor of Toledo, the Duchess of Florence and Siena. Francesco apologizes for not giving his mother earlier notice of his arrival, but he has been extremely busy in Ferrara. He also mentions having written to his father, Cosimo I, Grand-Duke of Tuscany, and indicates that he is anxious to see his mother.
