A speech delivered in Easton, Northampton County, Pennsylvania, by Seminole Indian Tal-a-mas-mico and transcribed by an eyewitness. The autobiographical speech covers Tal-a-mas-mico's childhood among the Seminole people, his conversion to Christianity as a sailor, and his desire to work as a Christian missionary among native peoples.

Tal-a-mas-mico, also known as John Douglas Bemo (approximately 1824-1890), was a Seminole Indian who converted to Christianity and worked as a missionary in Indian Territory.
