Dear Friend Jack -
I am continuing my gospel - preaching the fine parts of THE DISINHERITED! Early
in March, I will give a review of the book before a local library group. It might even become
a classic one day! (It's nearly that now.) Is Professor Douglas Wixson making any headway
toward the publication of your earlier stories, Jack? He seems like a man who is a kindred
spirit. You got through the hottest summer in 50 years, and now you're going through the
coldest winter in a century. Hard to believe that Missouri recorded such incredibly low
temperatures in December and January! Perhaps the climate is really changing... By the by
have you seen Michel Fabre lately? Is he still at the Sorbonne? Most cordially, Mel
