User-Contributed Transcription of service, that I kept my mind open to all facts pr
considerations bearing upon the claims of either, until
the representatives of both conceded the data to
be before me.
Before balancing the opportunities for usefulness afforded me
by either field, I most carefully and conscientiously
considered the prior question whether I had
theunderlined 3 times right or liberty to entertain the claim of
any other stewardship than that which had
so inserted here and underlined ? here plainly committed to me by the Providence of God
in church, Seminary and city. Some of my most
revered brethren and closest personal friends
denied that I had any such right or liberty.
and to their solemn and weighty words I gave
the most prayerful heed. Had I been convinced
as they were, that my withdrawal from the served
essential interests as to irretrievably thwart
the fulfilment of its mission in the Kingdom of God,
