Summary Receipt, May 28, 1821, signed with the marks of the chiefs of the Onondaga Nation (Captain Cole, Silver Smith, Big John, Samuel Jackson, Colonel Smith, Captain Crow), acknowledging that the Nation had received $1,000 from the state of New York via Jasper Parrish. This amount was payment in full of half the annuities due the tribe according to the provisions of the 1795 treaty at Cayuga Ferry.

Biographical/Historical Note In 1795 at Cayuga Ferry the Onondaga Nation signed a treaty with the state of New York, selling property in Onondaga County, including Salt Lake (Onondaga Lake) and the land around it, which had been reserved to the tribe in the treaties of 1788 and 1793.
