User-Contributed Transcription 4 enjoyed more the satisfaction I had in being independent  Just had a fine visit with Mrs. Beyer. She said they had a regular 12 o'clock dinner, not even chicken she had been sketching and wanted to go for a little walk, so she came here. She spoke again of Maxine. Said she is a sensible kid and she liked her very much. She is just getting over a terrible cold that she had when you were here.  Guess I've forgotten to mention a letter from Murray and Pauline MacFadden that came some days ago. They had meant to drive down to see Frank during the summer, but Murray had an accident, ribs broken, etc. so couldn't drive. Am waiting to tell them abt Frank so I wouldn't have to write twice. The entertained him very nicely some years back and have always inquired abt him when she writes. 11-23. Down to 42° this a.m. Clarence, Cora's cousin, will take me to town as Mr. Hobbins has to go to see his Med. He has cardiac asthma and was uncomfortable yest aft - when here. Much love, Mother
