User-Contributed Transcription 2 not in office this a.m. - So will try again this aft. Did you notice on the abstract whether the contract between me and the Wards had been recorded? I have never had the abstract to look at except the few seconds that day you were with me at her office. I don't quite get the p.c. on your last abt. "gov't farms seem like Paradise"? Refers to F.'s possible abode? It is State approved Nursing Home, 5 in Woodford County. We used to call them "county poorhouse farms," but things have to be refined and softened up these days. Surprised F. with a fried chicken dinner yest'y. Said he felt as if he were dining at the Waldorf Astoria - Have enough left for another dinner as chicken fricassee, and of some left after supper last evening I've made chicken salad - but I know he won't eat salad. Such a nice letter from Martha! Will enclose after ans'g. Tuesday aft. Mr. Guerndt doesn't live in town since his wife died, and he doesn't come in
