User-Contributed Transcription 3 Mrs. May Walden 420 West Bell Street Avon Park, FLA. safety razor at a bargain--no response thus far! I tried to find out about his boxes of tools and materials--two of them--that are stored in the old freight office of the defunct branch of the Chicago, Alton & St. Louis r.r. It ran from Dwight to Washington, Ill. Has been bought up by some other road, discontinued passenger service years ago, and now is used only for freight. This friend of Frank's, W.J. Williams, is the freight agent, and he retires after 65 years service about June 1st. After he retires, there will be no one to look after Frank's boxes that he values at between 2 and 3 thousand $. Frank hopes they are being kept dry, otherwise they are ruined. He means to go back to see about this stuff, that he says is a white elephant on his hands. We had quite a spirited conversational correspondence intervened with shouts and almost tears on Frank's part & on my part. I asked him if the station agent could keep them--no, there followed a long dissertation on the make-up of the
