User-Contributed Transcription [letterhead] MRS MAY WALDEN 420 WEST BELL STREET AVON PARK, FLA. Friday morning. Well. I hear Old Bertie is dead! Wonder if the world is any better off for his having lived? Old Pulitzer was a much better force than McCormick - singular that two such prominent publishers should pass out almost at once. It would be interesting to hear their shades discussing things now, wouldn't it! Hope you didn't have to throw out many of the oranges in this last basket, I packed these while he was picking and took only the choicest, Garrett? has had 3 or 4 jobs since he has been here. Just this morning took a new one, from the one that he began Monday. Mrs. Renfro told me yesterday that he rented from Toby Renfro.
