User-Contributed Transcription 2 Island because this mile and a half one way by half a mile or so, another, is higher ground and surrounded by marshy land. We went to an abandoned farm, or grove, that belongs to a friend of the rest of them -- Johnnie Rohr -- who has lately gone to Indiana and taken a position. He and his mother came here, sunk a lot of money fixing up this farm which used to belong to Sadie Meyers Brown's family. The house had been burned and the Meyers family left it to live in town and Sadie and Mildred studied and taught. M. still teaches, but Sadie lives in N.Y.C. and has a husband and a little girl. We went through the little cottage that the Rohr's built and the tool house that is filled with all kinds of tools for farming, bee-keeping storekeeping, etc. that show his various occupations in a struggle to make a home in Florida
