User-Contributed Transcription 9/ VILLAGE INN AVON PARK, FLA. MRS. M. WALDEN PROPRIETESS is also torn up over the formation of a Red Cross chapter. Sebring people came up and organized a mass meeting here and the town raised over five hundred dollars. Sebring raised something over four hundred, the surrounding settlements nearly six hundred, so Sebring sent the word on to Washington that it and surrounding territory had raised $1500. and it wanted the R.C. chapter located there. Mrs. S. was greatly excited over the affair and wanted the M.C. support to deny Sebrings' and get the R.C. chapter here in A.P. "For if we don't get the chapter here, it will mean that Sebring will fight for county division and will get the county seat for herself. And if we don't fight for it we lose the county seat right now!" I very quietly said, "I don't see how you can help yourself now: the Sebring people had this all planned before they called you up Sunday morning, and you fell for it like a lot of suckers and let them organize you, so there is
