KENNEDY DUNCAN MCDONALD]]  [Chicago crossed out] Avon Park Oct 31st 1915 My darling Tafern,  The silk remnants came Friday night. They are very nice, heavy silks - too good really to put in with the rest of the rags.  Grandmother has the most of the others sewed up and we are waiting for Mrs. Paber who will weave it to get her cotton weaving done so she can put in the linen warp.  I have just finished writing my letter on "What shall we do about birth control?" and will enclose my first draft of it. Maybe you can pick out my sentences.  Last week I was in from Sunday evening until Friday afternoon because of a painful sore on my right heel. I think a mosquito bit me and I scratched it and it made a sore right where the counter of my shoe rubbed it. I went about with one foot bare or encased in a wool slipper, so of course couldn't appear in public. One has to be very careful of their feet here as there is so much danger of hook worm. Also sores of any kind heal so slowly here so I took extra care. But I wrote lots of letters and read a good deal and worked at my pine needles. The rafia you sent is just what I wanted. I have some pink and green that I got from Sebring. Will enclose samples and if you can get any that is prettier I will send later for some.  Did you have money enough?  Mrs. Reeves says if you can get her 3 pairs of white and
