Verbal Concordance of the Latin Vulgate
Date
1300-1399
Subjects
Bible
Description
Manuscript fragment (46 x 32 cm.) of a concordance to the Latin Vulgate Bible, probably written in Italy, sometime during the 14th century. The bifolium once formed the outer leaf of a quire which included parts of the sections for words beginning with T and U/V. First word is "timor", last word is "velamen". Written in a small, regular, gothic hand in brown ink; entries arranged in six columns of 55 lines, ruled in dry point; red and blue capitals used for column headings, and for first letter of each main entry of the concordance; under main entries, related entries highlighted with alternating red and blue section indicators; horizontal catchword in inner margin; 55 sewing holes in both gutters indicate that the bifolium was previously bound.
