User-Contributed Transcription assistant for next term which I think will add very much to the interest felt in the school & presume it will be very large and should like to make on of their number but my sisters wish to go and it will not be consistent for us all to go this term, so I must be contented to stay away. We are not apt to realize the worth of our school hour till they have fled beyond our reach, then we look back and sigh for those portions of knowledge which we might have treasured up had we rightly improved past opportunities. But there is a kind of knowledge which is of far greater worth than all human learning. I mean that which maketh wise unto salvation. We live in a part of the world destinguished for its religious privileges - the light of divine truth illuminates our land. We have the written word of God to teach us his will and our duty, and the way to obtain eternal life. This is written in a stile as simple that it may be understood by very young children, yet it affords an inexhaustible source of new and sublime ideas to the researches of the schollar. This rich treasure we have in our own hands and may peruse it when we will, we have also sabbath and sanctuary privileges and every inducement to become the followers of the meek and lowly Jesus who went about doing good
