User-Contributed Transcription the Saviour may see if the travail of His soul and be satisfied.I felt encourage to hope and pray for the bestowment of still greater blessings and as though I could not live long enough to pray the salvation of immortal souls. I have refrained from speaking of Olive's conversion because she confidentially told me her feelings and requested prayers that she might not be deceived and because I wish to see the fruits before the fact is made known. Now if you thin I did wrong in telling you I wish you to say so - my motive is to encourage your faith as mine was encouraged. Dear Lucy it is even as you say - I feel that God is waiting to be gracious even unto us. O that we could feel the force of that - waiting - waiting to be gracious. Does it not imply that we are not prepared to recieve the blessing? that we have yet something to do which we have not yet done? that we must feel as we have never yet felt and pray as we have not yet prayed? Are we willing to be low in the dust and be counted as the filth and offscouring of all things that God may work here and work a work of grace and have all the glory to Himself? Are we willing to be anything or nothing that souls may be saved? O we must experience such heart searchings and sincere repenting and deep humiliation before God ere He can condescend to dwell with us. O let us Lucy lift up our united cry, with strong and persevering faith that God would make known to this people the riches of His grace.
