User-Contributed Transcription Warwick June 22nd 1857Dear Sister AbbyWe have received your fatletter & it has been passed all round in the familycircle, & soon to start on a visit to Charley - asyou supposed Mother had lost many a night'ssleep on your account, because she knew somethinghad happened, & we all began to think strangewe had no intelligence from you - you said when youwrote in Albany you would write again soon youknow - we all feel quite relieved to know youhave arrived safely, & happy too, to know you areenjoying yourself so well - but I'll not stop tocomment for I have only a moment that I canwrite I am [expecting?] Mother to call everymoment & I am going to Athol with her -Mary said I must write the news from mypart of the town so I'll tell you of Maria's & Samuel'snew baby! it is a little girl! & looks just asAlly did precisely - it seems like Ally right overagain - they have not named her yet. -[written on the left-hand side of the page]they are talking of having a pic nic on the 4 of July - and going to celebratein the adjoining town - our school will close next week Friday - Janelikes Algebra & isprogressing finely
