I am always hoping to visit USA. but I am neary 69 now and not so spry as I was. What I have seen of Chicago was the railway terminus - rather dark and frightening - and a brief drive around the city with the wonderful lake frontage, before I got into the train for Minneapolis. Whether I shall come again I do not know. I should love to. But the $ to (british pound symbol) position does not help and I have to depend a good deal on private hospitality. I don't think it is much realized in U.S.A. that all the money I (and many others) earn in the USA has to come over here to with help of Treasury" and one has to go a permit to buy dollars in England in a limited amount - for the ordinary Traveller.
