for today's news, it certainly was a shock — and will be to you, too. Dear sweet, brave little Susie! But of course she was so frail, she was a pushover for any disease. Nancy still doesn't know exactly what it was, so I gathered, and the onset was apparently sudden. As yet I don't know any details to write you.
The funeral will be Friday. Tomorrow they are having the viewing, as Nancy called it, in Santa Monica and Don and I and Janet will go over to the funeral home, where I expect we will hear more about it, but I want to get this note off to you before then. Don will mail it tomorrow AM.
I will take the purse over to Nancy tomorrow. She never got my message about it from Pete (I expect everyone was too worried etc. Sun. night) but I told her today — and I'm sure both you and I hope it will help to cheer her a bit. I'm sure she's desolate as she was so devoted to her little crippled daughter. Luckily, the boy, Mitch, is already going to military school, so at least he won't be completely at loose ends, and will have some distraction to take his mind off it. But he's a very sensible boy.
