User-Contributed Transcription Did I tell you I took a week out "to co-produce" a commercial over here for Canadian T.V.? It was great fun, as the Canadians were friends of Nick Webster- who suggested they  get me to do it- & it was with a marvellous comedian called Harry Secombe (don't know if he's known in the U.S. but he was one of "The Goons" & is Mr Bumble in the movie of "Oliver!") Also it was jolly good practice for me- & I've since heard it turned out marvellously (it was for Embassy cigarettes) & that I brought it in more cheaply than any other commercial of its kind. We also completed shooting in 1 day, when the Canadians, including the Ad. Agency & client, had been sure it would take 2. So I'm being rather smug right now!
Had hope (well, I tell myself I mean that!) to have a few quiet evenings with Peter away, but it's not working out like that, as all my chums seem to have decided to "rally round poor deserted Jeanie" so I'm still staggering home in the early hours. Then, foolishly, I turn on the TV & find myself glued to it watching the Olympics until practically dawn
Oh- you asked me about "Child of the Century: No, alas, the b- who "borrowed" it (without telling me) never returned it- nor can I get another copy over here. The really sad thing is that Ben had inscribed it with such a sweet message. "Charlie"- also inscribed- was also borrowd, this time with my permission by someone I trusted. My luck being what it is, his flat burned down 2 days later & everything was destroyed! So if you could possibly let me have copies of either or both I would be very, very grateful . . . Will write again soon, Rose love. And more legibly (I left my typewriter at Jack's flat as the one his secretary uses is under repair, but should get it back soon)
Love to Jenny- & as always to you- Jeanie [Sims]
