Dear Jack & Gladys: -
 Its now Saint Patrick's day, in the morning. The weather man has announced it's going to be sunny & in the sixties 0 So it will be a great day for the Parade. The Chicago river will become a flowing ribbon of green for a few hours while Mayor Daley & the City fathers strut from Wacker drive South on State Street through the loop - or they may parade from the bridge on Michigan boulevard South to Congress street - I don't know which - and I care less. Being an Irishman - and from the old Country - at that "County Mayo, Ballina - God help us" -this is a day I should feel proud of - But I just Ain't - In fact I just feel the opposite - When I think of Mayor Daley and his men in blue whose heads are made out of the same stuff as their Clubs I'm filled with a sense of shame that I belong to their tribe.
Your notation on the News Clip you enclosed along with your St. Pat's day card brought back into my memory Tricky Dick's vicious attacks on Helen Gahagan Douglass & Jerry Voorhis. I agree with you. "Nay the Leopard can't change his spots - Nor Nixon his skin."
