been writing about Larry Donovan, he would have placed him along side of his girl friend on an East side stoop, and instead of having Larry quote poetry - (which by the way is what every sensible young man who wants to impress a girl does.) - would have had him quote long passages from Karl Marx, Lenin, or Joseph Stalin. I for one am glad that Larry Donovan had a more acute sense of reality than Mike Gold.
Now I'm going to work on that "good grey critic" as you describe him. That once upon a time Stalinist literary Camisar of the New Masses - who strutted about boasting the Mantel of Marxism.
