Description
Eastland and the City of South Haven leaving South Haven, Michigan, approximately 1903 or 1904. The City of South Haven was a competitor steamship who ran the Chicago to South Haven line and built at the same time as the Eastland. Note the three pairs of lifeboats. After the 1904 season, the Michigan Steamship Company added a fourth pair of lifeboats. The Michigan Steamship Company owned the Eastland from 1903 to December 1905 and ran a 77-mile route on Lake Michigan between Chicago, Illinois, and South Haven, Michigan. Postcard was sent and includes recipient and handwritten message. Postcard published by E. C. Kropp, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
