Summary
Summary from 1830 of the history and geography of the Latin American republics, with a chronological list of the great explorers of the world and their discoveries. Ulloa presents brief histories and geographical descriptions of the Latin American republics, including for each one a table naming states or provinces and indicating their populations and capital cities. There are also 13 rough colored sketches of maps of individual countries or groups of countries. The list of great explorers summarizes discoveries made between 861 and 1783 on all continents, from Iceland to China to Tierra del Fuego; while three tables show the altitude (in varas) of the highest mountains and cities of Latin America, and their latitude and longitude.
