Dear Jack!

You wouldn't think I'd need to be emboldened to write to you, but that seems to be the case!
I've been getting acquainted with Carol Ackland, who lives in my building, says she worked with you at the Encyclopedia for awhile, and who has been writing poetry lately - at any rate I am encouraged to write to you, perhaps to ask for advice, or guidance on a literary matter.
I was approached recently by an acquaintance with connections at "Genesis" - one of those men's mags a few cuts below
