Description Beginning of the scroll. Includes a collection of prayers in verse praising St. Jerome by Battista da Montefeltro. Written in brown ink in a gothic liturgical hand. Historiated initial O at beginning painted orange against burnished gold ground. Picture is of Saint Jerome looking upward and holding a rosary with acanthus scrolls in the margin decorated with a bird and moth. The style is Florentine, The top ivory rod is decorated with carved leaves.
