Description Physicians pouring water on the head of an eight-year-old girl with the hopes to revitalize her after being pulled from the Chicago River. Typed piece of paper from the American Examiner newspaper taped on the back of the photograph reads, "Physicians trying to revive a little eight year old girl, who lost her life between the decks of the ill-fated steamer."
