Don't be a nervous Nellie; I'm sending it out today and if you don't write- hell- unclear - one third of your issue to it,  what kind of a magazine have you got anyway? The gang here likes it and I hope you do. Of course I'm seeing to it that the gang Rebel Punks get copies - JoJo, H.H. and what have you... I'm reading page proofs on the second issue and lining up the third- for which I hope your story arrives.

 I like your article Jack. I think however, I'll shorten in a bit. And what the hell do you mean Pro bono publico?   This section of "Letters" is no junk pile. The first ones aren't so hot (Dreiser -Frank-Anderson) but I insist the following ones are going to be built into one of the very best sections of the magazine. I'm hot on the idea. It's not simply "letters", but "Letters From Writers"- Everything they have on their chest. Which should be interesting. Only kid: please get mugged when you get your advance on the great American novel. While I'm here, I want to get in a few good licks for the crowd I like- and the crowd I always believed. (long before the 1929 revolution) was our "future"
  You'll be glad to know Walt Snow's piece goes into our No 3- out about June 1st. I'd like your piece in it. Anyway, your "letter" will be there. Granville Hicks promises me a piece for this number- and Mike Gold- and Doc Parson - and.... well, maybe I'll get some. In the second I have Hughes and Gellert (7 drawings) so my "face" is saved. In No 3.- five drawings by Lozowick.
