Summary
Order, Dec. 2, 1746, from Gov. George Clinton to William Johnson, who had been commissioned in August, 1746, by the governor as colonel to the Six Nations of Indians. The order instructs Johnson to attend a winter meeting of the "far Nations" to be held at the "Onondage Castle in order to Concert measures touching their joining the ... War against Canada."
