Summary Order, September 30, 1761, addressed to Charles-Michel Mouet de Langlade, the French commander of Fort Michilimackinac, by the new commander, William Leslye, requiring Langlade to inform all inhabitants of Michilimackinac that they were to surrender the arms in their possession. 
Biographical/Historical Note Lieutenant in the 60th, or Royal American Regiment. When the French surrendered Fort Michilimackinac on Sept. 28, 1761, to the Royal Americans led by Capt. Henry Balfour, Leslye assumed command of the fort. He requested to be relieved in 1762, but remained second-in-command at Michilimackinac, where he was captured by the Indians in 1763 during Pontiac's Conspiracy.
