User-Contributed Transcription that your daughter had died.

I feel bad about it, too, because I know (or, rather, can imagine) how words [ underlined: real, of course] could help.   The first time death came in the close family, I wasn't even told (but I underlined: Knew ), much less consoled by words or gesture; the second time, I was literally chased out of the house, and, again, underlined:  no one but no one thought  (and, worse, underlined:  felt ) that I had suffered a dreadful, heart-and-soul-wrenching loss.  Since that time I've tried to write or say or do when someone dies. -  Do you know what I mean?
How is Mrs. Conroy feeling?  Well, I hope, by now.  How're your memoirs, Jack?  what chapter?  Can't you sell a course to the illustrious U. of Mo-Columbia?  Maybe even a canned one?   What's the underlined:  matter with the people there?  An M&C/ high school?   Are they courting you?   Hell, [[underlined: they] can get the underlined: Arts  Council support too, anytime they want it.  Surely Ms. Leon Bell (underlined: his. dpt./Engl/) knows that.   See you.   Best, Ata Munroe
