User-Contributed Transcription Aug 31 1934 My good Mum: Here is a very small gift plus one from the Bank (5 per cent on the waivers payable Sept 1st (50 c[ents] )which I hope will help you to have a happy birthday. I wish I could send you something very nice but lots of love goes with this and many wishes for a happy day for you. The Harveys have a new car - a this year's Oldsmobile, and I rode to Oak Park in it with Blanche Wednesday afternoon while she bought some hose and picked out a new hat. She and Howard were going on a business trip to Cincinnati and left yesterday to return Saturday or Sunday. Dreadfully busy today but will try to do better next time. Loads of love, Tafern
