Am anxious to write scenario for the Daily News contest, which closes Nov. 1st; you see I haven't much time left. Got a letter yesterday from Mrs. Marshall which mentions some snapshots that she is sending me - I judge they are some that you have given her, and she says that no one will care for them as she does, when she has passed on, and I and my children will be glad of them. Sold old John yesterday. Took five men 3 hours to get him fixed up and out of the yard. Then he refused to go farther than the school house and had to be towed to Wheaton. Max was at work, or he could have driven him without any trouble. The 2nd gear is worn out. Do not expect to get another one until the winter is nearly over, as have no place to keep it. May get a runabout then I could take it out alone. Malcolm hungry. Must stop and get lunch. Marvin 16 1/2 lbs. last Sunday - naked weight. Much love, Katharine
