CHICAGO, ILL.
Ella, came out to call on us. We had a nice little visit and they enjoyed very much looking at my baby things. They spoke of having the stork shower at one of the girls' houses, some club night, and asked me when would be most convenient. I suggested some time early in April, so it will probably be in about 3 weeks. I have one slip made, the kind with a draw string in the hem, and expect to make about 4 more of the same kind. People's ideas differ so on matters of clothing for infants that it is somewhat difficult to decide certain points. The one that I am considering just now is whether or not to make any white nainsook or muslin petticoats. An article in the Tribune says a baby should have 6 of them and 4 flannel ones. An article in Physical Culture says one ought to provide plenty of flannel petticoats but that the other kind is quite unnecessary. That is you want to make one rather elaborate white petticoat to go with the best dresses, all right, but that others are not needed. I made one plain white petticoat
