Jesse wrote us a month since that he was in Calhoun, Ky, in the Ind. 31st, waiting for a forward movement to Bowling Green. We hear occasionally from Edwin & wish we could get a letter from Erasmus and family. Cousin Sophie buried a little boy not long ago, eleven months old. Things among our relatives in this region are going on as usual. Emily Miller (Mrs Merrill Gage) has gone home to heaven this Summer; she left a little boy two years old. Theodore is very feeble. I suppose you know that Mr Stedman died last Spring and that Lizzie is living or was with her sisters in Marietta. Mr S. left all his property to Lizzie. The children are all well and learning well. I suppose your little ones are nicely. Is the baby's stomach any better or stronger than it was? I haven't learned his name yet. I am much obliged to Sister Mary for that sketch of your book case. It was nicely done. I hope that she or Abby will write us very often of your health if it is only a few words for we are very anxious to hear from you and when you are able, give us a few words, but don't [[till?]] you are. Lydia is about to write to David & Mary and will write you soon. Our love to them & to yourself and all your
