User-Contributed Transcription half the cold weather we have been having. 19 [degrees] below & wind chill factors of 63 [degrees] below. And the blizzard conditions have caused much suffering. Talked to Carol last nite & she said while many nights were cold, days had gone back up to 40 [degrees] & 50 [degrees]. Your boys have all done well - and to think of Jerry in college! Merry Ann's boy, Gus, started high school in September. Gladys, I hope you get some relief or instructions about your eyes. I was to have had surgery on the second eye last March, but I was in the hospital at that time. Am letting things ride for the present. Have been out of the house only once since Jan. 2nd. Friends & neighbors & Merry Ann try to keep me in something to read biographies, verse, mysteries - anything - even Reg Bracken's "I hate to Cook Book", Sure hated to hear of Agatha Christie's death. did you read her last book, "Sleeping Murder" & "Curtain" which brings about Hercule Poirot's demise?
