User-Contributed Transcription written in blue ink at top of page Skinner Rd / Shelburne, Mass 01370                                                                                                                Sept 29 '71  Dear Jack,                   long time no word from the Moberly  rover, but we think of you & G everytime we break out a Guinness Stout or break off a piece of Irish soda bread (which Lynn got from A Taste of Ireland, Ballantine pb, 2.85) for we're still on our way to Ireland, even if th bloody bullets are popping like cider bungs.  What's new?          Our new is Lark's 1st b'day, his first  words, first steps etc. He loves the chickens in our barnyard, the cats, dogs, and the horse we are about to get (count it, jus one), and the goats Lynn wants.                                    World Eve Bookshop is  thriving, but of course there's no income for the first three years; we're 22 months in, and showing 70% increase over the first year. Which is good, But if you want to buy W.E. & settle into Greenfield, it's good for you! We now, at long last, have a young clerk who satisfies our book demands (these two long weeks), so that this morning  I was home scribbling on mss and Sitting in the Goddamned Sun: Sensational.      Are you working or re-working your memoirs?  Is lit dead in Missouri? Are th bars holding their own in Moberly? Is your love life as scarlet as ever? Do you love Rocks, Beattles, or just Rolling Stones? Do you like our ques tions and will you write us for a Conning linE? Lots of people ask for your new book, Step Time, but I quick sell them a Fast Sonner [sic] Hound, especially the despatchers at the dying B & M.  Best of walnuts & cider to you & yrs by yr cheery hearth or TV: Love! (or Peace)  Charlie we have plenty of Tracts written in blue ink left-hand margin Lynn was in Chi, & talked to Herbert who is bogged down in his successful Galerie. I was home  with W. E. & Guinness.
