August 1. 1898 Cloudy more or less. Mr. Drysdale left early. Chancey Hubbard, Mrs. Whitney + John left in A.M. Mr Allen came back. Nelson + I walked down to Post office and to Mr. Gladen's to see about the chickens. Letters fr. Nette + Wilder. Felt low, beginning by 10 A.M. or earlier. Nelson went in bathing with Arthur in A.M. I went to bed when Nelson did, about 7:30.
Tues. 2 Went down to Avon Beach Park for picnic in P.M. Mr + Mrs Allen, Miss Doreylace, Chancey, Arthur, Nelson + I, the [[Lerman's?]] also who were here for the day. Dr. D.L. + wife, Miss Ella + Miss Kate. Fares. 20
Nelson went in bathing with Arthur in A.M.
Wed. 3. John, Harry, Mags, Ely, Ike, Keyes, Franklin came down for the day. Nelson + I ate picnic dinner with them + went home with them about 4. P'd Mrs Allen 7.50
