User-Contributed Transcription for our benefit as well as her own. Found Harriet Harward behind one of the counters - her sister belonged to the next one. Saw beautiful things in the Japanese & Turkish Bazaars, & were deeply interested in the people, especially a Hindu fr. Bombay who was making pictures with his fingernail. Left Midway about 4, and went to Art Gallery - Lunch on Wooded Island, and Concert at noon in Choral Building - fine - Met Jessie Meinger & Hester Pollock - and Mrs Haines - Boys met Ed McLean - Supper at French Bakery - presented our French girls with a souvenir spoon - Then found a place on the balcony of Machinery Hall to see the illumination, Enjoyed the evening immensely - fireworks, fountains, electric lights - Edison Tower Administration Building - Home by electric car - & in by 9:40 - after which Ethel made us a call as we were preparing for bed.

Sunday. 2. Fair weather - Boys & I had breakfast about 8:15. Miss M. & Nette about 10:20 - Song Service +c in Hotel Auditorium at 10:30. John & Carrie came here after going to church, took dinner & spent afternoon here. We dined or lunched about 2. Sat by Lake a while - Dr. Gunsaulus preached
