Galatians -
Paul had visited the Galatians on his 2nd journey (Acts 16:6) they received him gladly (4:13,14) and cared for him in his illness (4:13-15) He visited them again on his 3rd journey (Acts 18:23) on his arrival at Corinth 3 yrs. later, he learned that Judasizing teachers had influenced them to doubt his authority as an apostle (1:1, 11-24. 2:1-9) and to depend on Jewish ceremonies (1:6, 7 6:12 5:1,6,7,12 He wrote to defend his authority as an apostle, and to teach them that they were to be justified by faith in Christ and not observing Jewish ceremonies.

the church at Rome was probably founded by the "strangers from Rome" who were at Jerusalem on the Day of Pentecost and carried back the gospel. Paul wrote the Epistle at Corinth on his 3rd missionary journey - He tells of his purpose to visit them (1:9-15) and, as in Galatians, sets forth the doctrine of Justification by Faith, and other important Christian doctrines. In chapters 12-15, he gives practical instructions - The last chapter is filled with messages to different members of the church. Mark chapters 8, 12, 13, 14.
