Monday. Dec. 4 Clouds & some cold rain. Library in A.M. after a visit to Miss Scoville in her schoolroom. Worked at Algebra and Bible - Sent for things fr. U.S.C.E., W.A. Wilde & Co. & D.C. Cook - Read for "Stories of the Old World-" Looked over truck for Christmas in trunk and made lists. Bible and Algebra in evening - good time - Saw Reid and Henderson after Night School, about being tardy at Sunday School. Cap't Moton gave them each three marks. Justice or Mercy?

Tuesday. 5. Rain mostly all day - Classes as usual - Lounge some - Middlers copied quotations from Hiawatha, and began to write essays on same.

Wed. 6 Middlers in #26 to copy compositions, 7 & 8. Algebra 8-9 - Letter from home. barrel just being packed, they say. 2 hr. hickory nuts - old clothes +c.

Thurs. 7 Wrote letter home. made Bible reading for Girls' Prayermeeting & led same. not a very great success I fear. Middlers in #26 to write 8:15 to 9 finished compositions.
Lyle Allen, Jennings, Green copies the Whittier quotations for the class.
