Wed. 27 Aunt France came at 5. I went to bed just before they arrived. Mayo, Nette & Nelson went to Mrs Fay's to tea.
Dinner - Beefsteak, potatoes
Made stuffing for turkey & chicken.
Thurs. 28 Thanksgiving Day - Did not get up till about 9. the 4 DesMoines girls came on 9:10 train - Ethel, A.S.R. France, Keyes, Ike Ely. went to meet them. Those same, exc. Franc, with Mayo & Harry, went to church. Disciple Ch. short speeches by Mr Reeder, Mr Knapp & Mr. Williams - Dinner about 1 oclock. Turkey, Mashed potato, Turnip, Squash, Pickles, Celery, Pumpkin Pie, Apple Pie, Coffee Jelly with Whipped Cream - nut cookies.
Evening. Popcorn. Chocolate banana, Pulled Taffy, Apples & Pears. Aunt Anna, Lizabeth, George, Mayo, Bessie, Aunt Albina. Sand hymns from 8 to 9. Then, dishwashing & bed.
Friday - 29. Thanksgiving Dinner warmed over. A.S.R. returned to Oberlin at 7:50 A.M. Ethel to Chicago, 11:27. Pater & the boys to Wood Lot in P.M. Harry & I went to S.S. teachers' meeting at Dr. Sherwood's, to talk over Christmas Entertainment & Lessons for next year. Very few present-rain & snow.
New stove arrived & was set up in P.M.
