Church Sunday School and two evening prayer-meetings. May Ellis went down with one in the evening. Rev. Mr. Reynolds of Natick; Baptist preached on /I Thee/! 1, 2 and 3. a very good sermon. I slept or at least dozed all the afternoon. Even more than usually tired and sleepy. Read the congregationalist and wrote a short letter home.
Monday. 26. clear, cold, windy and very slippery
Letter from Annie this morning, telling of Miss Homes' going home for the rest of the term. Studied Bible all the morning. went to College in the afternoon and did Qual. Anal. Lab work. also read the papers in the evening, studied Bible at the College, while Mr. Northrup lectured in the chapel on the Memory. came down across the Lake without falling. Mrs and Mr. Sawyer and Alice Dom fell. sent letter home as usual this morning.
Tuesday. 27
Longfellow's birthday. Miss Freeman, she gifted Pres. of Wellesley College delivered an address Today. I suppose at the meeting of the Gould Memorial Association in Boston. Chemistry and Bible as usual. Wrote letter to Annie and mailed it at Stone Hall.
Wednesday Slippery- a little snow
Taught classes. practiced gymnastics at 2:05. Letter from John and Annie. Wrote to Alice Leonard and Mary Beathe. and postal to Edith. Walked with Miss Kendall instead of going to chapel. Laboriously studied Bible nearly all the evening. very sleepy.
Thursday March 1. a beautiful day. neither of lion nor lamb order exactly.
Marion Marsh and I pulled chest weights for a short time after chapel. We propose to do it every morning. Went to lunch alone about 12:15. After Qual. Anal. M. Marsh and I walked to Natick after some materials for a spread tomorrow to celebrate Miss Eaton's birthday. Spent the evening except prayer meeting time in studying Jeremiah. I held an interview with Miss Mardlam this morning on the subject of her examination paper, whereat she wept. I was very sorry for her.
