Miss Howes arrived at 3:39. she expects to take Miss Patterson's place here next year. Miss Patterson is going to be married. It cleared off and was a beautiful evening. No letter from Annie this week. she has been at home taking care of the sick mother or the babies.

Sunday Apr. 27
Beautiful spring day. went to church and S.S. in the village - attempted to teach a class of little girls. slept some in P.M. red Stepping Hea[?]. prepared for section meeting. We had a delightful meeting - 12 being present. had a little talk with Miss Bradley thereafter. visited some with Misses Patterson, Stratton and Howes. slept in Miss Hallowell's room lat night and am abut to do so tonight.

Monday Apr. 21
Went to Boston at 8:01. Looked for and providentially found Prof. Smith at the Cont. House but he can not come here to preach next Sunday. Took dinner with Miss Campbell at 20 Dwight St. came out at 3:45 - richer by Hat, Jacket, Gloves +c. Miss Howes went at 6:00. Letters from Pater and Annie.

Tuesday Apr. 29.
Classes as usual. Saw Miss Freeman about having a meeting for Bible Study, in silent time. Retired to my couch at 4 P.M. and went not to dinner. read At the Back of the North Wind

Wednesday Apr. 30
Rose not to breakfast. Went no to my music lessons. taught classes as usual. Liquified IO2 at 9:50. C.C.  C.C. and I began to get up a Bible Reading. Went to teachers' prayermeeting - wrote to Mrs. Seymour inviting myself to spend Sunday.

Thursday May 1.
25 years' old. A beautiful May Day. Ten letters from the home people this morning, and one from Jack tonight - wrote short letter home.
