User-Contributed Transcription padlocked gates, and barbed wire. At Merton Centre we forsook the aqueduct, hastened to Reservoir Station, where we missed a train by about 3 minutes - then where we missed a train by about 3 minutes then two miles to Brighton, where we arrived first in time to see the train start off without us. There we waited till 6:18, and reached Boston by train at 6:35 took supper in the depot, and met uptown only to find everything in the except the groceries closed. Took 9 oclock train out, walked up from station, reaching W.C. about 10:30 - very thirsty and somewhat wary.

Sunday Sept. 30
A rainy day - rather tired after yesterday's tramp. Prof. Bonnie preached a good sermon from John 7:17. "if any man will do HIs will +c." He speaks very slowly, on which account some of the girls thought him tiresome. The chapel also was very close - In the afternoon I slept some, and thought about section prayermeeting. Pres. Tueney, of Colorado College, led prayers. prayermeeting at 5 was led by Miss Bigelow. Section meeting was in Miss Braly's room, No. 143. quite a full meeting and a good one. Four of the girls came in here for a  few minutes after it. Hattie Cooke spent Sunday with Lottie. I went to see Miss Shafer in the evening, and read her part of Irving's letter.

Monday Oct. 1
Swept, dusted, took a bath, wrote letter home and one to John, went out roaming and brought in some beautiful red beans. studied Bible lesson F.F.F.F.F.'s had a short meeting in the evening. It is the anniversary of Mr. Durant's death. Dr. Duryea spoke in the evening. his main though was something like that of his Baccalaureate sermon here in 1880. Letter from Pater. Two Cent Postage Law went into effect today.

Tuesday Oct. 2
Rain all day. studied and taught Bible and Chemistry all day - studied and taugth Bible and Chemistry - wrote to Annie - Took no exercise out
