Went to Mr. Folger's & brought Ethel & Nettie home. John, Ralph & I rode in a single carriage. The Folger's ate dinner with us out under the trees. Went in bathing. it was quite rough.
Saturday
Mended clothes. went down town in P.M. with Nettie, to Hair Store, Dry Goods Store & Library - Knit and read in the evening.
Sunday Aug. 5
Commission Sunday. Mr. Williams " Now is salvation nearer to us than when we first believed" Mr & Mrs Hall, Horatio's parents, a Mrs Morse & a Mrs McNeil, joined the church. stayed to S.S. but did not teach a class. taught Y.P. Meeting - Subj. - A full Consecration - went to Methodist Ch. in evening & heard a Comic Lecture on Dakota, with a little religion on the end of it. Cool, pleasant day -
Monday
Cool still - Annie came home from Wellington in the morning - Mrs. Orville Root was here in the afternoon, also Sophie Schaibly came to talk about going to Chautauqua, which subject we all continued to talk about. Irving came up in the evening & stayed until 9:30, after which we talked downstairs until 10:30 - on various subjects, [?]ally Chatauqua.
Tuesday
Washing Day - clear & rather warmish in middle of day - Went over to see Sophie Schaibly in P.M. with old Charley, Nettie, Ralph & Baby - did not find anyone at home, but met her and her sister on my way back. went to telephone office and talked with Wi and Mary a little while - Meeting of Young People's Association in the evening. 13 present.

Still cool. Stockings all darned, by joint effort of Annie & myself. Pater brought up a horse from the livery stable about 4 P.M. & took his
