Dear Sir: -- I write you at teh suggestion of Professor Gates at Oberlin. I came from there to Berlin to study in O.T. Lines. He told me you would be very willing to give me a letter of introduction to Dr Dillman. I would be very glad if you could. You probably do not remember me. I graduated from Union Seminary in 1888, but never had any work with you because I was in the Seminary only the last year, having graduated from college in Oberlin, and having taken 2 yrs. in the Seminary there. I preached 2 yrs. in St Louis & then went to Oberlin and taught for 3 yrs in the Eng. Course, the O, & the N. Testament.
